Bio

Engineering and design have been a major part of my professional and personal life for over two decades.  I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama and have been heavily involved in Research, Design, and Development as a professional.  Some of my work experience includes:

  • Executive Director, Lead Designer, Designs For Hope
  • President, Lead Engineer, Bond Engineering and Drafting
  • Research and Development Engineer, Fontaine International
  • Quality Engineer, Southern Company Services
  • Student Research and Design, University of Alabama

In 2007, I left the business world for teaching.  I have spent my entire career at Hewitt-Trussville High School.  I co-founded the Engineering Academy.  Our engineering enrollment averages approximately 20% of our school population.  Our engineering academy uses Project Lead the Way curriculum, the nation's leading engineering program.

I have also been a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Master Teacher for three years.  Master teachers are heavily involved in PLTW curriculum development, training PLTW school teachers, and more.  I have taught PLTW classes at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and at Mississippi State University during summer break.
