Subjects Taught
Physics, Physics 1 - AP

-B.S. Mechanical Engineering - LSU, May 1998

-Master of Natural Science: Physics - LSU, Aug 2014

I started teaching physics at HTHS in Fall 2011. I have experience teaching General Physics, AP Physics B, AP Physics 1, and PLTW Principles of Engineering (POE).

I grew up in the south Louisiana swamps, and after graduating high school, I attended Louisiana State University after, where I studied Mechanical Engineering and earned a B.S.M.E. in May 1998. After graduating from LSU, I worked in the petrochemical industry for 4 years. I then spent 10 years moving around the globe as a US Navy wife.  I have lived in Louisiana, Florida, Italy, Tennessee, Germany, and now Alabama.

My family has lived in Trussville since September 2005.  My husband and I have four children - Paul is in 10th grade at HTHS, Luke is in 7th grade at HTMS, Peter is in 6th grade at HTMS, and Mary Kate is in 4th grade at Paine.  We absolutely love the Trussville community.

While teaching, I also earned a Masters Degree (Natural Sciences-Physics Concentration) in August 2014. I love teaching physics and inspiring young minds to consider academic and career pursuits in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) related fields. I am currently the sponsor of the Girls in Engineering Club (a.k.a. Pink Engineers) at HTHS.
