I have been teaching band in Trussville since 1996. My job includes conducting Concert Band and coordinating the HTHS Color Guard and Highsteppers.

My name is Stephanie Ezell and I'm originally from Moulton, AL.  Growing up on a farm taught me the value of getting up early and getting busy. I also learned how important planning and preparation are to any project. Many times, the jobs I was given by my parents or grandparents on the farm weren't fun, but they were important tasks that lead to a bigger goal being accomplished. It is my goal to use band to help kids realize that through diligence and persistence, they too can accomplish wonderful things. I received a full music scholarship to Jacksonville State University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Music Education Degree. Music has opened so many doors for me and I hope to share those opportunities with my students.

Trussville has been my home since 1996 when I became the band director at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School. In 2003, I became the assistant band director at Hewitt-Trussville High School.  I met my husband, John, after moving to Trussville. We have three children, a precious daughter-in-law, and one handsome grandson. I am blessed to teach and have my family in such a wonderful community.
