Education

I received my Bachelor's Degree in French with a minor in Theater from UAB in 1996. I received my Master's in Secondary Education with an emphasis in French from UAB in 1998.

Experience

I have taught French for 19 years. I started at Gardendale High School in 1998. I taught there for two years before my wife and I moved to Mississippi to allow her to go to graduate school. I taught for five years at George County High School in Lucedale, MS and for one year at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, MS. The next year, we moved to Dallas, TX for my wife's internship. I taught that year at Sanger High School in Sanger, TX. The next year we moved to Memphis for my wife's post-doctoral work. I taught that year at Rosa Fort High School in Tunica, MS. Since returning to Birmingham in 2008, I worked two years at Pinson Valley High and four years at Shades Valley High. This is my third year teaching in the Trussville City School System.

Bio

Sometimes it's easier to connect with people if they know a little about the teacher as a person. So, I'll tell you a little about me. I enjoy speaking French (Bien sûr!), acting, and playing soccer. I grew up in Pinson.  I graduated from Pinson Valley High School in 1990, but I have been around Trussville all my life. My father, Bill, taught Marketing/DECA at HTHS for many years. I also played soccer for the Trussville Soccer Club for several years as a teenager. Things have certainly changed for the better in Trussville. I'm glad to be a part of the Trussville City School System.
