Hospitality and Culinary Arts Academy

The mission of the Hospitality & Culinary Arts Academy is to provide students with a comprehensive education about the culinary arts and hospitality industry. The Academy integrates both academic and technical skills catering to serious students who have an interest in learning about and/or pursuing careers in the culinary arts and hospitality field. Since it is a two-year program and space is limited, preference is given to those who wish to make a commitment to the two year program and join the most exciting and fastest growing industry in the nation. Academy completers are eligible for articulated college credit and there are several generous scholarships available to assist graduates in their pursuit of higher education and career advancement.

Certifications and College Credits Earned

  • ProStart National Certificate of Achievement qualifies students for the workforce, scholarships and college credits
  • ServSafe Certification required by all food service institutions
  • Six hours articulated credit with The Hospitality and Culinary Arts Institute at Jefferson State Community College and all other state community colleges with culinary programs

FCCLA Student Organization

Academy students are encouraged to participate in the
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America organization to develop leadership and interpersonal skills. Students also participate in community service projects and skills competitions.

There are no specified admissions criteria for program participation. The following CTE\Academy Programs are available: Engineering Academy, Biomedical Sciences Academy, Business & Finance Academy, Hospitality and Culinary Arts Academy, Multimedia Academy, Electrical Academy, Fire Science Program and Cooperative Education Program.
